Refuge Christian Center was founded January 2, 1977, by Bishop Dennis B. Evans, Jr. and Pastor Dorothy A. Evans. They established the church ministry in the Pasadena and Altadena areas. The initial service was set up in the living room of a friend’s home, and they continued preaching the unindoctrinated Word of God for more than 42 years.
