SSF Province of the Americas

SSF Province of the Americas is a Episcopal/anglican church at 573 Dolores St in San Francisco, CA 94110-1564. It is one of 528 churches in San Francisco, and one of 5 Episcopal/anglican congregations in the city.

The object, therefore, of the First Order, is to build up a body of men and women who, accepting Christ as their Lord and Master, will seek to follow him in the way of renunciation and sacrifice as an act of witness and for the loving service of his brothers and sisters in the world.

We are part of a vibrant group of religious orders in the Americas. Founded in 1919, we are Franciscan Brothers, fully part of the Episcopal Church and part of the world-wide Society of St. Francis with five provinces for brothers around the world.

Anglicans gave the English-speaking church the words it still prays in: the Book of Common Prayer, and a translation of Scripture that shaped four centuries of worship, writing, and speech. Holding evangelical, catholic, and liberal convictions inside one communion has made them a long school of patience for every tradition that came after.
