In the summer of 2003, Pastor Dan Sexton and his wife Cameron, moved to Ellicott City to begin the simple ministry of teaching the Word of God verse-by-verse, and chapter-by-chapter.

Calvary Chapel is part of the Charismatic and neo-charismatic networks family of churches in The American Church Story. 22 congregations of the Charismatic and neo-charismatic networks family gather across Maryland — 1,395 across the United States on The Church Map.
The charismatic networks handed the whole church a way of singing directly to God — a great deal of what your congregation sang last Sunday was written in this family — and they made church planting something churches do for one another rather than alone.
