Unity Spiritual Community of Grand Rapids is part of the Metaphysical, New Thought and Swedenborgian family of churches in The American Church Story. 34 congregations of the Metaphysical, New Thought and Swedenborgian family gather across Michigan — 992 across the United States on The Church Map.
Christian Science, Unity, Religious Science, Swedenborgian and Spiritualist congregations use Christian Scripture and Christian language, and read both through convictions about mind, healing, and an indwelling divine that historic Christian teaching does not share. Reference sources genuinely disagree on whether to file them as Christian at all; this map lists them and leaves the question open.
