Gethsemane Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Oregon Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We were formed from the creative combining of 2 small churches in east Portland/Multnomah County in 1964; Hope Lutheran and Mount Olivet… each with roots from different Lutheran denominations!The property of the old Tiny Dumont’s dance hall at 117th and Market was purchased and together the newly formed Gethsemane Lutheran Church turned it into a new interpretation of a center for community and celebration. 60 years later, being a center for community and gathering continues to drive
