Heritage
Antioch Community Church in Waco, Texas grew out of a college ministry led by Jimmy Seibert, and was organized as a congregation in 1999 with a conviction that a local church exists to plant churches and send missionaries. Around 2002 that conviction took shape as the Antioch International Movement of Churches, planting congregations across the US and training centers and teams abroad, including in hard places. The movement's culture is recognizable: extended prayer, discipleship in small communities called lifegroups, and an assumption that ordinary members may be called overseas.
