Shiloh Apostolic Church
Shiloh Apostolic Church belongs to the Apostolic / Oneness Pentecostal family of churches.
Governance: episcopal.
A small Philadelphia-rooted apostolic body in the Jesus-name family, with more history in its congregations than in print.
Heritage
Shiloh Apostolic Temple was founded in Philadelphia in 1953 by Elder Robert O. Doub Jr., who had served in the Apostle Church of Christ in God, a North Carolina apostolic body. The Philadelphia work grew into a small fellowship of congregations with mission ties abroad. Little about the body has entered the published record beyond standard reference works, and this record deliberately stays within them.
Theological family
Apostolic (Oneness) Pentecostal: baptism in the name of Jesus, Spirit baptism evidenced by tongues, and holiness of life, in the historically Black apostolic stream. Trinitarian bodies confess the Godhead differently.
Who decides what
Episcopal in pattern, on the apostolic model of a senior bishop and covered congregations.
What a first-time visitor would find
Worship in the Black apostolic tradition: congregational song, concerted prayer, tongues received as ordinary, and preaching toward the altar.
What it has always cared about
Philadelphia as its mother city; the Jesus-name new birth; holiness; and small-fellowship faithfulness of the kind that rarely makes the histories.
Its gift to the wider church
A reminder the map exists to make: much of American Christianity lives in small fellowships that publish little and persevere long.
Commonly confused with
With other apostolic bodies of similar wording, and with the many unrelated congregations that carry the common biblical place-name Shiloh.
Range of views inside it
On a body this small, generalizing would be false precision; we decline.
A note from the mapmakers: This body is verified absent from the RCMS 2020 national table, so we publish no congregation count. "Shiloh" is among the most common words in American church names, and our name-based matching cannot settle affiliation. Nothing here may be asserted of any congregation; this record is deliberately minimal because the published record is thin, and it yields entirely to the church's own account of itself.
