Unitarian Universalism came from two Christian families — the Unitarians and the Universalists — that consolidated in 1961, and it asks no creed of its members today. Congregations range from those still reading the Christian Scriptures on a Sunday morning to those drawing on many traditions or none. It appears on this map because of where it came from, which is not a claim about where it now stands.
